Roadz of Life YouTube channel has gained large momentum with over half a million subscribers (750k). In 2012 he developed a neurological movement disorder & acquired brain injury. The woman he was renting a room from suddenly became his 24hr carer, and they soon married. After the birth of their son, through a video camera, he began to analyze the tragic events. Journaling the recovery from a severe disability, introspective, the filmmaker is also the subject, finding his way out of a coma like state through the lens of a camera. The Roadz Of Life feature length documentary shows the rehabilitation process of him exploring his loss of identity and trauma, in a world that now feels foreign, he interviews strangers also experiencing extreme social circumstances including drug addiction, mental health issues, physical disabilities, homelessness and carers of disabilities. He tackles topics like suicide, trauma, disabilities, injury and relationships. The film storyboard and soundtrack is jagged and bombarding like a jigsaw puzzle, leaving questions unanswered. It Portrays the disconcerting nightmare and dreamlike state the subject is experiencing. Filtered with beach life, his child and dog. Extreme emotions are placed on the viewer that draws toward deeper questions of what it is to be human, finalizing with a deeper appreciation of the human condition, nature, life and relationships that relate to a very broad audience. Medically his symptoms presented like a severe stroke or end stages Parkinson's Disease, losing basic cognitive awareness to shower himself, eat food, drive a car, speak, no comprehension of math, reading, writing, the list was endless. Also presenting with constant physical involuntary movements to all areas of his body including his limbs, fingers, torso, lungs, throat, eyes and mouth. Roadz Of Life is a Registered and Trademarked Production, Filming, Music and Distribution business set up by Michael and his wife in 2023. Both himself and his wife Janelle Houston publicly advocate and facilitate public discussion surrounding the topics and social issues the documentary explores. Volunteering time, knowledge and resources to the not for profit sector and social welfare organizations. The documentary Roadz Of Life has completed filming and in 2024 went into post production. The completed feature length film is expected to be released in 2026.
