Biography

Ricardo Gabriel Mendoza Castillo was born on April 27, 1990 in Lima. Coming from a lower middle class family, he is the nephew of the Peruvian actor and comedian Carlos Alcántara, with whom he works on his projects. He studied the Faculty of Communications from which he dropped out. He began his artistic career at the age of ten in 2000, participating in the Peruvian children's program María Pía y Timoteo as part of the children's staff. But it was not until 2009, when Mendoza Castillo would definitively focus on comedy, performing in stand-up, appearing in different bars and other places in the Peruvian capital. He was part of the comedy cast Fraternidad X, in which he led the group, with whom he performed in the show La noche es íntimo with Karl Bond in 2013. Prior to that, he participated in a clown workshop. Thanks to his artistic experience, he was invited by his uncle Carlos Alcántara to take part in his biographical film ¡Asu mare! in 2012, where he played the role of "Tarrón", one of the best friends of the protagonist "Cachín". After the success of the film, Mendoza reprised the same role in the 2015 and 2018 sequels. In 2014, he competed in the comedy reality show Gud nay Chabuca with the help of comedian Ernesto Pimentel without success. After participating in the competition, he joined the cast of comedian Carlos Álvarez in 2015, taking part in his television show Nadie se salva and the following year, in the other production Habla bien. In addition, he was in negotiations to host the reality show Esto es guerra in 2017, which Mendoza finally ruled out. He was part of the comedy show Stand-up night sharing with other Peruvian comedy artists and participated as the protagonist of his own one-man shows Íntimos, Calla gordo and Todo es mejor entre risas. He starred in the other format under his real name in 2019, which premiered at the Barranco Theater. Mendoza teams up with comedian and internet celebrity Jorge Luna to host the web comedy show Hablando Huevadas on YouTube in 2019, which would later make him stardom. In the space where he currently remains, different celebrities from the Peruvian entertainment industry are invited to be part of the show under the style of black humor, giving nicknames to the guests in their jokes. After the success of the format, Luna and Mendoza were part of international tours in Europe and Latin America, and created the channel No Somos TV in 2022, whose objective is to compete with open-signal television, which in addition to having Hablando Huevadas, had other programs such as Noche de patas and Chapa tu money. From that year on, the Canout Theater was used as the main focus for the development of the show. Presenter Magaly Medina highlighted the success of the format for its treatment of the public. In 2023, the Internet program duo starred in their first fictional web miniseries, Hijo de...
