Madeleine

1947. On a beach, Madeleine, a waitress in a hotel restaurant, mother of a little boy, meets François, a rich and cultivated student. The force of attraction that pushes them towards each other is commensurate with the secrecy that each carries. If we know what Madeleine wants to leave behind by following this young man, we discover over time, what François is desperately trying to flee by mixing Madeleine's fate with his.

EXT. WHY CAME LOVE - DAY Along Came Love, is it about the relationship between Madeleine and François, or is it? I'm not sure because this film goes in so many directions. I get it, ~Love~ has no boundaries, but storytelling sometimes should; a more focused story would have helped because the film tries to go down that 'shocking' route, leading to a lacklustre conclusion. **FADE OUT.**
Read full review_Along Came Love_ is a frank, handsomely acted melodrama about two people tethered to secrets they barely admit, even to themselves. Shame, guilt, and misplaced desire simmer beneath a marriage built on real affection but weighed down by repression. It’s emotionally direct and far more explicit than its 15 rating lets on. I regret watching the trailer—it spoiled too much—but even so, I stayed engaged and was, at times, genuinely moved.
