Overview

According to Korean folk tradition, the 21-day period after childbirth is known as “seire.” During this time, a newborn is vulnerable to bad luck, curses, and even evil spirits. Many superstitions surround these first three weeks, and new mother Hae-mi carefully follows every one of them. Her husband, Woo-jin, reluctantly plays along, but when he attends an ex-girlfriend’s funeral, he unwittingly opens the door to dark supernatural dangers.

A Haunting Korean Folk Horror Our intro is eerie and at the same time, it's kinda sweet. The premise of our story seems to revolve around an embedded tale and superstition in the culture, and I'm excited to see how it plays out after the intro. Oh the film doesn't disappoint, things are already our finally getting weirder than the intro. As magnificent as the things wrong happening, it's the heartbreaking moments that are seeing the tempo carry the weight. There is getting away from the fact that the superstitious element is mentally as disturbing and detrimental as is the physicality of it, and yet it a very interesting take on the superstition as of yet seen.
