Zhang Jian

Overview

After China's defeat in 1895, Zhang Jian abandoned officialdom to pioneer industrial salvation, founding Dasheng Cotton Mill. Despite setbacks, he promoted education and expanded businesses, uplifting national industry. In his later years, though his ventures faltered, he remained devoted to the people, standing firm for his ideals.
